SECOND EMPIRE [THE]: MONARCHIES OF GOD BOOK FOUR, Kearney, Paul
94 SECOND EMPIRE [THE]: MONARCHIES OF GOD BOOK FOUR
Kearney, Paul
Gollancz, 2000, 0575065745 / 9780575065741

First Edition, Hardcover, Very Fine, Very Fine. Book. Crisp, Steve
Hardcover UK, first printing and true first edition. First Published in 2000 stated on copyright page. Very fine (unread) copy in very fine jacket. Not a book club, remainder or ex-library copy. Book Four in this critically acclaimed military-fantasy series. The Monarchies of God is a fine, densely written politco-religous series by an author not yet available in the U.S. Densely plotted alternate history where two rival "Western" churches wage politco-religous wars with each other and against an Oriental foe with swords and arquebuses. Magic exists but is being prosecuted and extinguished by church-sanctioned inquisitions. Battles and military themes are portrayed convincingly in C. S. Forrester style realism and brutality. Hard-edged military fantasy that is not for the squeamish.

95 BLACK RAVEN [THE] (SIGNED)

Uncorrected proofs are preliminary versions of publications meant for review by authors, editors, and proofreaders. They usually have a final edit for corrections before they are approved for pre-publication, sometimes as Advanced Reading Copies (ARCs), which are sent to editors and reviewers and can, but not always, have the final jacket art included. Proofs are fun to collect because you often see the final changes made by or for the author by their editor.
