Fine copy in near fine jacket. A clean, square copy with original 42.98 price intact. Collects 19 fantasy stories, all previously published. What's interesting about these stories, aside from their first appearances in hardback, is that each story is accompanied by a black and white interior illustrations by a different artist. Two closed tears, the first (3 cm in length) at bottom corner of rear jacket panel and the second (0.75 in length) at lower tip of front jacket fold. Faint crease in jacket near spine on front panel. Aside from these defects a square, straight copy without stains, clipping or previous owner's marks. A very nice copy of a rare book with the classic full color, wrap-around jacket illustration by Ron Walotsky. Award History: 1985 Philip K. Printing code #14361 on rear jacket panel with the printing statement "This book is an Ace original edition, and has never been previously published" plus the statement "[t]his novel was serialized in the July through October 1996 issues of Analog Science Fiction and Fact magazine" also on the title page. Ron Walotsky is the artist for the Book Club edition jacket. Jacket is bright and intact without tears, but has some tiny chipping at tips. Very faint age and handling-related wear to page block edges, but is otherwise clean and square without previous owner's marks. A fine copy in fine jacket. Very unusual to find Book Clubs in fine condition. The jacket, however is in poor condition, it's price-clipped, shows numerous open and closed tears with associated crinkling and chips, especially at the head and heel of the spine panel with creasing in the inner flaps.
