Margaret Atwood travels rarely now, so signed copies will become increasingly scarce and valuable. Light handling-related wear to page block and jacket edges, else a near fine copy in near fine jacket. Previous owner's book plate on ffep. A straight, square copy without tears or marks and price intact. Historical fiction with science fictional elements, it's a novel within a novel set in present-day Canada, but narrated in restrospective about events in Post-WII. Award History: 2000 Man Booker Prize Winner; the 2001 Hammett Prize; 2000 Governor General's Award Nominee; The 20002 International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award. Time magazine named it the best novel of 2000 and included it in its list of the 100 greatest English-language novels since 1923.

Bundled with its original limited edition paperback novella "The Lost Get-Back Boogie". This novella (also in very fine condition) was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. (This paperback follows the hardcover published by Louisiana State University Press in 1986 and is an expansion of the story which originally appeared in 1978 published as "Discharge Day".) A Dave Robicheaux mystery. Electric Mist is Burke's first mystery novel with fantasy overtones. Both are excellent examples of this Edgar award-winning author's talent. Burke won the Edgar Award in 1990 for the novel Black Cherry Blues.

Stated First Edition with printing date "03/2015" on rear jacket flap, making it a March, 2015 first printing. Signed by Ishiguro on publisher's tipped-in sheet. Ishiguro is also winner of the 2017 Nobel Prize in Literature. Not a book club, remainder or ex-library copy. This copy also has the publisher's black stain on the page edges. (Copies are already in multiple printings. These later printings have plain white page edges as opposed to the black-stained edges.) The book's green jacket is un-laminated, making it prone to scratches. This jacket is pristine without the "Signed First Edition" sticker present. Caution to collectors: Removing the Signed First Edition sticker can scratch off the jacket's green ink from the jacket cover. There is no sticker on this copy and the jacket is in fine condition. "It's a sad, elegiac story, one that has a tone and texture suited to its subject matter: a dreamy journey, repetitive and searching as lost memory." Lydia Millet - Publisher's Weekly Starred Review. Updike's fourth and final novel about ex-basketball player Harry "Rabbit" Angstrom, preceded by Rabbit, Run (1960), Rabbit Redux (1971) and Rabbit is Rich (1981). First printing points present: purple topstain on top edge of page block and the date "10/90" printed on lower edge of rear jacket panel indicating an October, 1990 printing. Copy shows some age and handling-related edgewear to textblock with some minor rounding of the top and bottom edges of the spine panel (caused by shelving). Slight bow to rear board. Aside from these defects a square, straight copy with jacket and original $21.95 price intact. Award History: 1991 Pulitzer Prize Winner for Fiction.
