Historical fiction with science fictional elements, it's a novel within a novel set in present-day Canada, but narrated in restrospective about events in Post-WII. Time magazine named it the best novel of 2000 and included it in its list of the 100 greatest English-language novels since 1923.

Bundled with its original limited edition paperback novella "The Lost Get-Back Boogie". This novella (also in very fine condition) was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. (This paperback follows the hardcover published by Louisiana State University Press in 1986 and is an expansion of the story which originally appeared in 1978 published as "Discharge Day".) A Dave Robicheaux mystery. Electric Mist is Burke's first mystery novel with fantasy overtones. Both are excellent examples of this Edgar award-winning author's talent. Burke won the Edgar Award in 1990 for the novel Black Cherry Blues.

Commemorative, limited edition stamp with First Day Cover (FDC) depicting Snoopy as the "World War I Flying Ace" wearing his helmet and scarf on top his red doghouse once again fighting the Red Baron. First Day Of Issue was May 17, 2001. First day cancellation by the Post Office using a rubber pictorial hand-cancel stamp also depicting Snoopy with the "First Day of Issue" statement. Each stamp was hand-placed on a crisp, white No. 10 envelope by the postal clerk in Santa Rosa, then cancelled by the Post Office. Only four of these unique hand-stamps were created by the United States Postal Service to commemorate Charles Schultz' creation of the Peanuts. Cancellation using the special hand-stamp was only done at the main post office in Santa Rosa, California (home to the Schultz family and Peanuts' museum), and ceased as of June 15, 2001. (After June 15th, of the four hand-stamps, one went to the Schultz family, one to the Peanuts museum and one to the Smithsonian. The fourth hand-stamp was destroyed.) A unique item for the stamp collector as well as Peanuts fan.

Limited edition commemorative stamp depicting Snoopy as the "World War I Flying Ace" wearing his helmet and scarf while flying his doghouse in a dogfight against his arch-nemesis, the Red Baron. Each stamp was hand-placed by the postal clerk in Santa Rosa onto a limited edition, No. 10 sized envelope also issued by the Post Office that illustrates Snoopy walking a letter to a mailbox. The stamp was then cancelled by the postal clerk and bears the first day cancellation by the U.S. Post Office using the special rubber pictorial hand-cancel stamp. Day Of Issue was May 17, 2001. The stamp and envelope (size No. 10) are in mint condition and bear the May 17, 2001 cancellation date stamped on the front by the U.S. Postal Service. Limited edition commemorative stamp depicting Snoopy as the "World War I Flying Ace" wearing his helmet and scarf while flying his doghouse while against his arch-nemesis, the Red Baron. Each stamp was hand-placed on a crisp, white No. 10 envelope by the postal clerk in Santa Rosa, then cancelled by the Post Office. In addition to each stamp, the postal clerk placed the pictoral border from the same sheet of 20 stamps which includes the figures of Linus, Lucy and Charlie Brown and placed it onto the top-edge of the envelope creating a truly unique Peanuts item. The stamp was then cancelled using a special pictorial hand-cancel stamp. First Day Of Issue was May 17, 2001. Only four of these unique hand-stamps were created by the United States Postal Service to commemorate Charles Schultz' creation of the Peanuts.
