Broken type on right edge of lines 28-29 and 30-32 on page 229. Red top stain on type block and boards are green cloth with silver spine lettering and copper devices. Fold-out map of Beleriand is clean, intact without tears and still attached to rear free endpaper. Jacket is frayed and chipped at tips and head and heel of spine panel. Several jacket creases at top edge of front panel with one jagged but closed tear 1.5 cm in lenght. Handling and age-related wear to page block edges, but normal for a book this age.
